Create screencasts with Screenr
By Jordana | August 19th, 2009Twitter just keeps getting more and more useful! There are some haters out there that doubt that Twitter is anything beyond a puff of hype that will eventually dissipate with the next big trend, and while they might be right eventually, I for one believe that the public needs only better education on the possibilities with Twitter to really grasp its potential. Take for instance, Screenr, which is a web app that allows users to capture screen casts and tweet them. The greatest thing about Screenr is that it is based on a simple concept and is even simpler to use. What I enjoy the most about this site is that it has the same cute, clean, and simple interface as Twitter; one needs only view a short 1 minute tutorial to learn the basics, or they can simply click Record and go – right off the front page! Screencasts are captured within your browser, meaning zero install and setup time, and can be instantly tweeted to your Twitter account, uploaded to Youtube, or embedded in your own personal site. If your screencast deserves further tweaking, you can even download it to your computer. Viewers can retweet your screencasts, as well as leave comments and have their comments appear in their Twitter feeds. Video quality is pretty decent and is even available in HD. And just to make your web 2.0 life complete, Screenr is of course available on your iPhone.
Finally, just to prove the quality and ease of Screenr, here is a short screen cast of me writing this post! Enjoy.
